Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez and Chris Billam-Smith are ready to go head-to-head in their unified cruiserweight title showdown at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight headlines the "Latino Night" car.
Ramirez, who holds the WBA cruiserweight title, sounded confident during the final press conference, declaring, "I’m ready for whatever he [Billam-Smith] brings. I’m here to represent Mexico with pride and show everyone I belong in this division." The Mexican fighter emphasized his comfort at cruiserweight, noting that he’s no longer struggling with weight cuts and is prepared to bring the pressure.
On the other side, WBO champion Chris Billam-Smith remains unfazed despite being labeled the underdog. "I know the level I’m at," said the British boxer. "I’m here to spoil the party. It’s about skill, speed, and punch output – not just size. That’s why opponents struggle to match me in this division." Billam-Smith is determined to seize this opportunity and hopes to unify the belts.
The event also features an exciting co-main event where former unified super lightweight champion Jose Ramirez takes on the undefeated Arnold Barboza Jr. in a WBO 140 lbs title eliminator.
