Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Lamont Roach Jr. will run back their controversial draw on Saturday 16 August, headlining a PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. The 12-rounder will again carry Davis’ WBA lightweight title and tops one of three “premium” PBC shows pencilled for the second half of 2025.
Their first meeting at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center ended 115-113, 114-114, 114-114 after Davis took a ninth-round knee he blamed on hair chemicals seeping into his eye. Referee Steve Willis neither issued a knockdown count nor penalised the impromptu timeout, and New York’s replay system malfunction meant Roach lost out on what could have been a decisive 10-8 frame.

Roach’s camp lodged a protest; the NYSAC upheld the draw but acknowledged the blown call. “Part two time to boogie,” Roach told BoxingScene, vowing to “show versatility, strength and the will of a warrior” and leave Vegas with the belt he felt was his in March.
For Davis, the rematch is a chance to erase the lone blemish on an otherwise perfect record and re-ignite momentum after a muted showing against a +1200 underdog. Training-camp leadership remains undecided, but Team Tank promises “a clean knockout” to silence sceptics.
