Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, the WBA 140-pound champion, expressed his lack of admiration for Ryan Garcia’s recent performance, despite Garcia's impressive three-knockdown victory over the previously undefeated Devin Haney.

Instead of being impressed, Cruz pointed out Garcia’s failure to make weight by 3.2 pounds as a sign of his frivolity and lack of seriousness. Speaking in Manhattan where he was announcing his upcoming fight with Jose Valenzuela, Cruz was candid about his views, noting, “Ryan Garcia doesn’t take anything seriously,” highlighting Garcia’s consistent issues with making weight.

Despite this criticism, Garcia has called out Cruz for a fight, following his win over Haney. Cruz, not particularly surprised by the challenge, is open to the match, stating, “It wasn’t the first time he said he wants to fight. I’m ready, and I want to fight him.” Cruz recently secured his belt with an eighth-round TKO over Rolando “Rolly” Romero and watched as Valenzuela scored a spectacular sixth-round knockout over Chris Colbert.

Looking ahead, Cruz is potentially lined up for a rematch with Gervonta “Tank” Davis, assuming he can get past Valenzuela. Their first match in 2021 was a close contest that Davis won by a narrow decision. Open to this rematch and other challenges, Cruz affirmed his readiness to take on any contender.
