As the anticipation builds for the return of undefeated knockout artist Vergil Ortiz, Jr., Golden Boy Promotions has finalized an exciting undercard for the January 6 event at The Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, broadcast worldwide on DAZN. Ortiz from Grand Prairie, Texas, is set to face Fredrick “General Okunka” Lawson of Accra, Ghana, in a 12-round super welterweight fight that promises to be a compelling main event.

The co-main event features U.K.’s Ohara “Two Tanks” Davies against Venezuela’s Ismael Barroso in a 12-round match for the WBA Super Lightweight Interim World Championship. This bout, rescheduled from December 2, is expected to be a highlight of the evening, showcasing the talents of both fighters in a high-stakes championship context.

Adding to the card, newly-signed Golden Boy fighter Arnold Barbosa Jr. from El Monte will engage in a 10-round super lightweight clash, and Ukraine’s Sergiy Derevyanchenko is also slated for a 10-round bout, with their opponents set to be announced shortly.

The event will also feature a series of preliminary bouts streamed live on YouTube and Facebook Watch. In these prelims, undefeated NABF Welterweight titleholder Raul “El Cugar” Curiel faces Elias Diaz of National City, California, in a 10-round fight. Cruiserweight Tristan Kalkreuth, fresh off a knockout victory last October, will take on Marquise Weston from Tacoma, Washington, in an eight-round fight.

Additionally, Santa Ana’s Johnny “Sugar Cane” Cañas is scheduled for a four-round super lightweight fight, and Dallas, Texas’ Emiliano Gandara will make his professional debut in a four-round super welterweight bout, with opponents for both to be announced.
