Keyshawn Davis is almost set to challenge WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk on February 14 at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. The bout will headline a Top Rank on ESPN event, where Davis looks to claim his first world title less than four years after earning a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics.
Davis has had a standout 2024, finishing with a second-round knockout of Gustavo Lemos in a sold-out homecoming fight in Norfolk, Virginia, last month. The 25-year-old also delivered a knockout victory over former two-division champion Jose Pedraza and a decision win against the durable Miguel Madueno earlier in the year. While Davis has publicly called out big names like Gervonta Davis, Teofimo Lopez Jr., and Vasiliy Lomachenko, the unbeaten Berinchyk was always seen as his clearest path to a world title shot.

Berinchyk claimed the vacant WBO lightweight title in May by scoring a split-decision win over Emanuel Navarrete in a major upset. The 36-year-old Ukrainian, also an Olympic silver medalist, showcased his skills in his U.S. debut, marking the biggest win of his career. Berinchyk’s crafty footwork, movement, and mental toughness earned him praise from Davis during a recent Top Rank broadcast, as Davis emphasized the challenges Berinchyk brings to the ring.
The February clash is obviously a big showdown between two decorated Olympians, with both fighters eager to cement their place among the lightweight division’s elite. Moreover junior middleweight contender Xander Zayas is expected to appear on the undercard against an opponent yet to be announced.
