The undercard for Canelo Alvarez vs. Edgar Berlanga fight on September 14th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has been announced and it has received mixed reactions.

One of the key fights is the WBC middleweight championship bout between Erislandy Lara and Danny Garcia. Garcia, who hasn't fought in two years, is making a surprising return to the ring against the seasoned Lara.

Another significant bout is Caleb Plant facing Trevor McCumby for the WBA interim super middleweight title. Plant, who has lost two of his last three fights and hasn't fought in 1.5 years, is being given an opportunity to secure a rematch with Canelo. However, critics argue that McCumby, with his unremarkable record and lack of notable wins, is not a worthy opponent.

To rejuvenate his career, former WBA light welterweight champion Rolly Romero will fight unranked lightweight Manuel Jaimes in a 10-round bout. Romero, coming off a knockout loss to Isaac Cruz, hopes to regain his footing with this fight. However, fans are skeptical about the quality of the matchup and Romero's ability to secure a convincing win.

Moreover, former unified super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton is set for his ring return against Carlos Castro. Fulton lost his WBC and WBO 122 lbs titles last July in Japan, where he suffered his first career defeat via eighth-round TKO against Naoya Inoue. His opponent, phoenix-based Carlos Castro of Mexico is riding a three-fight winning streak. In his previous outing in April, the 30-year-old contender scored a unanimous decision against Belmar Preciado.

The inclusion of these undercard fights has led to disappointment among fans, who feel that the event lacks the appeal expected of a high-profile PPV. With Canelo Alvarez headlining the card, expectations were high for competitive and exciting undercard matchups to justify the PPV purchase.
