Fight Details

The welterweight showdown between Niklaus Flaz and Gabriel Maestre, originally scheduled for April 5 at the 2300 Arena, has been called off due to an injury sustained by Flaz. With Flaz vs. Maestre scrapped, the co-main event featuring Ricardo Salas (20-2-2, 15 KOs) and Kent Cruz (17-1-3, 11 KOs) now moves into the spotlight as the headlining bout. Salas hails from Mexico City and looks to solidify his presence in the division, while Cruz, from St. Louis, Missouri, aims to score a signature win in the City of Brotherly Love.

Despite the change in the evening’s marquee matchup, the undercard remains intact and offers plenty of intrigue. Connecticut junior welterweight Mykquan Williams (22-0-2, 11 KOs) faces battle-tested Mexican Antonio Moran (30-7-1, 21 KOs). Also in action, Orlando-based southpaw Geo Lopez (17-0, 10 KOs) tries to keep his unbeaten record intact against seasoned Nicaraguan Rene Alvarado (34-15, 22 KOs) in a junior lightweight clash. Meanwhile, light heavyweight prospect Dante Benjamin (10-0-1, 8 KOs) of Cleveland squares off against Rodolfo Gomez Jr. (14-8-3, 10 KOs), a Texas-based fighter known for his heavy hands.

Hosted by ProBox TV, the card will still emanate from the historic 2300 Arena. While Flaz’s injury postpones his WBA welterweight eliminator with Maestre, the night promises no shortage of action thanks to the stacked lineup, with Salas-Cruz now topping the bill in what is expected to be an all-action main event.
