In the co-main event, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz is stepping back into the ring with high momentum after clinching the WBA 140-pound title with a decisive victory over Rolando "Rolly" Romero. Jose Valenzuela is set to challenge Cruz, entering his first title bout with significant confidence.
Isaac Cruz, hailing from Mexico City, has long dreamed of winning a world title since turning professional in March 2015. This dream came true on March 30th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where he captured his first world title. Cruz first gained attention when he challenged Gervonta “Tank” Davis for the WBA (Regular) lightweight title in December 2021. Despite a competitive performance, Cruz lost by unanimous decision. He rebounded with knockout victories over Yuriorkis Gamboa and Eduardo Ramirez, followed by a split-decision win against Giovanni Cabrera. This success set him up for a move to super-lightweight, where he seized the WBA title from Rolando “Rolly” Romero with an eighth-round stoppage.

Jose Valenzuela, another rising Mexican boxer, made his pro debut in September 2018 and quickly built an impressive record. However, he faced setbacks with back-to-back losses to Edwin De Los Santos and Chris Colbert. Valenzuela avenged his controversial defeat to Colbert by knocking him out in the sixth round of their rematch. Now, with a record of 13-2 (9 KOs), Valenzuela is eager to claim his first world title at the expense of Cruz.
The 24-year-old southpaw from Mexico captured attention with a spectacular sixth-round knockout of Chris Colbert in Minneapolis last December, which is being hailed as a contender for the 2023 Knockout of the Year. This victory was particularly sweet for Valenzuela as it avenged a previous disputed loss to Colbert.
