Vergil Ortiz Jr. and Serhii Bohachuk are gearing up for an exciting junior middleweight showdown at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on August 10. Both fighters are known for their knockout abilities, adding to the anticipation surrounding this much-anticipated bout. With neither Ortiz nor Bohachuk typically going the distance in their fights, fans can expect an electrifying clash.
Ortiz, representing Grand Prairie, Texas, holds an unblemished record with all his wins coming by way of knockout. His recent victories include a quick first-round stoppage of Frederick Lawson in January and another impressive first-round win against Thomas Dulorme in April. Despite a break from the ring due to health concerns lasting 17 months, Ortiz has made a strong comeback and is determined to solidify his position in the competitive 154-pound weight division.

"This fight is the fight that solidifies me as a top 154 fighter. This is also the fight that shows everyone that nothing has changed: I am still one of the best fighters in the world."
On the other side, Bohachuk hails from Vinitza, Ukraine, and has encountered his fair share of obstacles, such as visa troubles and the ongoing unrest in his homeland. Despite these challenges, he boasts an impressive record. His sole defeat occurred in a match against Brandon Adams in 2021, where he was TKO'd in the eighth round. In his latest performance, Bohachuk clinched a convincing decision win over former world champion Brian Mendoza – a departure from his usual stoppage wins – which also earned him an interim title belt.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya is also excited about the fight, highlighting the knockout prowess of both fighters.
