Wilkens Mathieu, born on January 4, 2005, in Quebec City, Canada. Mathieu’s introduction to boxing was influenced by his family’s involvement in the sport. His father, built a boxing gym in their basement, providing an early training ground. Beginning his amateur career at age 10, Mathieu compiled a 32-fight record. Facing challenges in finding domestic opponents, he gained international experience by competing in countries like Hungary and Germany. His amateur tenure concluded at the Youth World Championships in Spain in November 2022. Despite opportunities to turn professional earlier, he waited until after his 18th birthday, making his pro debut in February 2023.

In his debut, Mathieu secured a first-round knockout against Zsolt Birkas at the Casino de Montréal. The family trained in their basement, which was set up as a practice space. Lexson Mathieu, born on April 14, 1999, in Montreal, Quebec, began boxing after switching from taekwondo. He competed successfully as an amateur, winning the 2016 American Continental Championships and several Canadian national titles. Lexson later turned professional and retired with a record of 9-0 to focus on business to help his family.
