Biography

Ramon “Dinamita” Cardenas is a rising American super bantamweight boxer from San Antonio, Texas. Born in 1995 on November 7, he began his professional career in 2015 and has steadily built an impressive record. Cardenas fights out of an orthodox stance and stands at 5’5”. He’s become a key figure in the San Antonio boxing scene, where he’s often cheered on by a passionate local fanbase.

Cardenas gained national attention with a series of dominant wins between 2021 and 2024. Notable performances include a second-round knockout of previously unbeaten Rafael Pedroza in September 2023, and a ninth-round KO of Jesus Ramirez Rubio in April 2024 to win the WBA Continental North America super bantamweight title. He also claimed the vacant WBC FECARBOX title earlier that year and defended both belts with skill and confidence. These victories solidified his position as one of the top contenders in the division.

In February 2025, Cardenas handed Bryan Acosta his first professional loss, winning a close but unanimous decision in front of a home crowd in San Antonio. That win catapulted him into a world title opportunity against Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue.

Outside the ring, Cardenas has begun to build a brand around his journey. He trains with respected coach Joel Diaz and recently launched a documentary project called Journey to the World Title, aimed at showcasing the sacrifices and discipline behind his ascent.
